SLIDING SCALE PRICING

Ecstatic ceremonies was built for lovers, For creatives, For queer folks, and For soulmates.

I believe in love. I believe in community. I don’t believe that capitalism and celebrations of love should go hand-in-hand. I value compensating folks fairly for their work and contributions, so that their creative work can be sustainable.

To that end, I’ve developed a sliding scale pricing model inspired by the work of Alexis J. Cunningfolk, Andrea Vollgas of Vollgas Studio, Little Red Bird Botanicals, Britt Hawthorne of Embracing Equity, Shelby Jawer of Calathea Postpartum, and the Rolling Grocer 19.

Why a sliding scale?

The sliding scale is a beautiful model for so many reasons. It’s founded on trust, openness, and care for both the client and the small business owner. As Little Red Bird Botanicals writes, "A sliding scale is a tool for building economic justice, and it requires your active participation. If a sliding scale is implemented effectively, everyone pays a similar percentage of their income for the same products or services. A wide range of payment options across the scale promotes broader accessibility, while ensuring fair compensation to the producer. Paying according to one’s available resources creates a more equitable system for pricing of products and services.”

How does it work?

Ecstatic Ceremonies charges a flat rate for ceremonies and officiating services, and hourly for additional coaching. My sliding scale offers three payment tiers that you can choose from. During our first meeting, I’ll ask you which tier on the sliding scale you’d like to use. Use the following guidelines as you consider which tier works best for you. I trust you to make the best choice for you and your family, so I won’t ask any questions about the tier you choose. Just let me know and I will bill accordingly!

Please consider paying as much, not as little, as possible, while still choosing a tier that respects your current financial situation.

This will allow me to provide services to as many folks as possible.
